Wax Seal Tips

You spent time finding the perfect card, writing the perfect message, and attaching the perfect wax seal. Here are a few tips to consider if you are sending your Paper Genius card and wax seal through the mail to make sure it arrives in PERFECT condition!

What are the seals made of?

Our wax seals are made of a flexible wax blend that differs from traditional wax. This wax is more durable than traditional candle and crayon wax so you don’t have to worry about it being brittle or breaking in transit. It combines modern technology with traditional vintage methods of seals.

How do I send it?

There is postal method called hand-canceling. It’s preferred whenever you are sending envelopes with wax seals through the mail. This method protects your wax seals from tearing because electronic canceling machines can cause damage and leave an unsightly digital bar codes printed across the top of your envelope.

It is important to CALL AHEAD because not all post offices offer this service. There may ask you to pay a hand-canceling fee (usually ~ $0.21 per envelope).

Another option would be to add an outer envelope to protect your wax seal. The added weight will increase the price of your postage, but this is an option if you want to be extra cautious.
